As a midsize crossover SUV, the 2010 Honda Pilot is offered in four trim levels at Twin Cities Honda Minneapolis including the LX, EX, EX-L and Touring.
Each is available with either front-wheel or all-wheel drive. The LX comes standard with 17-inch steel wheels, keyless entry, a tilt-and-telescoping steering wheel, full power accessories, cruise control, 60/40-split second- and third-row seats and a seven-speaker CD/MP3 audio system with an auxiliary audio jack. The 2010 Honda Pilot's interior layout is rugged-looking with a navigation system that is one of the best and thoughtful storage areas and cubbies abound.
The EX model adds in foglights, 17-inch alloy wheels, a power driver seat, an in-dash six-CD changer, steering-wheel-mounted audio controls, tri-zone automatic climate control and satellite radio. The EX-L upgrades to leather upholstery, heated front seats, a sunroof and a rearview mirror-mounted back-up camera. The high-end Touring model includes a power liftgate, rear-window sunshades, Bluetooth, a 10-speaker audio system, a USB audio interface, and a navigation system with voice recognition and an integrated back-up camera. Fuel economy is supported by Honda's Variable Cylinder Management (VCM) system.
In government crash tests, the Pilot performed flawlessly, scoring a perfect five stars in frontal and side-impact testing, and the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety likewise awarded the Pilot its top "Good" rating for both frontal-offset and side-impact crashes. Plus, the soft suspension offers a comfortable ride over broken pavement and on the highway.
